The city of Arkadelphia was recently cited as one of "50 Fabulous Places to Raise Your Family: The Best Places to Live, Work and Play" published by Money Magazine. The reasons were "Small, friendly college town, great scenic beauty and natural resources, outstanding school system, growing industry, affordable housing and taxes, great recreation, very safe community."

Located in the foothills of the Ouachita Mountains, Clark County offers it's residents an amazing assortment of outdoor activities, whether it's canoeing the Caddo River, fishing or swimming in Lake DeGray, or hiking on of the many trails in the area. DeGray State Park also boasts a full-service marina and a public 18-hole championship golf course! Additionally, the city of Arkadelphia is currently in the process of building a sports complex, complete with aquatic park. 

Ouachita Baptist University, a private college, was ranked among the top 5 colleges in the region for academics, according to U.S. News & World Report. Henderson State University, a public Liberal Arts University, has academic programs that are also receiving national attention; approximately one third of its undergraduates are education majors.  Arkadelphia also features an exceptional public school system, with Arkadelphia High School and Perritt Elementary School being designated as among the National Schools of Excellence.
